The power of creative community: Jennifer's story.

Real people. Real progress. Real creative breakthroughs.

Hey Reader

What happens when you finally give yourself permission to just start?

Jennifer Stavinoha found out.

She’s an artist, writer, and one of our amazing Daily Creative Habit members—and recently, I had the joy of chatting with her on my podcast. In our conversation, she shared how she went from feeling creatively stuck to showing up consistently and courageously.

The turning point?

Being part of a creative community that actually helps you follow through.

Jennifer joined the Daily Creative Habit membership looking for accountability—and what she found was so much more: a group that encouraged her, cheered her on, and celebrated every creative step forward (even the messy ones).

She’s now:

  • Sharing her voice more confidently through writing and podcasting
  • Embracing imperfect progress
  • And creating with joy instead of pressure

Her story is exactly why I created this space, because I know the transformation that’s possible when you have the right support and structure.

13 years of daily art making

Thirteen years of daily art. Hey Reader Thirteen years. 4,745 consecutive days of creating something, anything, every single day. When I first started this journey, I had no idea where it would lead. I just knew I needed to find my way back to creativity, to myself. What began as a lifeline has become a lifestyle. My daily creative habit has carried me through job transitions, personal lows, family milestones, and creative highs I couldn’t have imagined. And this past year, that habit took on...

A person with a white beard, wearing glasses and a blue checkered shirt, is sitting in a dimly lit room. They are under a bright floor lamp against a backdrop of intricate floral and bird-patterned wallpaper. The light casts a focused illumination on the

What Do You Do When the Art Market is Slow? You make more art, of course. Hey Reader The other day, I found myself in a room (that I may or may not have snuck into) and decided to play with some iPhone photography settings—because why not? Creativity doesn’t wait for perfect conditions, and neither should we. What you don’t see at an art market? The hours of prep, the set-up, the awkward conversations (or long stretches of none), the customer interactions, the tear-down, the load-out, and...

A Story About Logs, Waterfalls, and Creativity Hey Reader Have you ever felt stuck? Like you’re sitting in the middle of constant motion—ideas swirling, opportunities flowing—and yet, you can’t seem to move forward? I’ve been there. In fact, I was there not too long ago. And while I sat by a waterfall at a local NJ coffee shop—a spot where I used to go to think—it all came flooding back. You see, I once noticed a log lodged at the top of that very waterfall. It was surrounded by a powerful,...
